Dear Mr Guzzardi,

 

Freedom of Information Request – FOI15/106

We would like to sincerely apologise for not processing your FOI request
within statutory timeframes.  Although your email was correctly addressed
to the Department of Finance (Finance) FOI requests inbox and an automated
acknowledgement response was sent to you on 31 July 2015, an inadvertent
administrative error resulted in your email being overlooked.  As a
result, no action was taken in relation to your FOI request.  I note that
you have advised that you sent a follow up email to Finance on 1 September
2015, however, we have been unable to locate this email. 

 

Finance is committed to complying with its obligations under the Freedom
of Information Act 1982 (FOI Act) and will now process your FOI request as
a matter of priority.  Specifically, your FOI request is for access to:

Given the statutory timeframe has expired, Finance will endeavour to
expedite the processing of your FOI request.  However, if a large number
of documents are identified and numerous third party consultations are
required, it may take up to 60 days to finalise the processing of your FOI
request.  Finance will provide you with an update on expected timeframes
once the relevant documents have been identified.

Liability to pay a charge

As your request, received on 31 July 2015, was not processed within

applies or the documents are characterised as containing personal
information.  Documents will be published within one working day after
they are released to you.

 

Policy to exclude junior officer contact details

Finance has adopted a policy to generally exclude the names and contact
details of junior staff (non-SES officers) from any documents released
under FOI. Finance’s preference is to reach agreement with FOI applicants
to exclude these details from the scope of the request. Where there is no
objection, the names and contact details of junior officers are redacted
under section 22 of the FOI Act, on the basis that these details are
irrelevant to the request.
