Good Morning Samantha
As promised please find attached the information you requested in your withdrawn FOI on details of customer complaints regarding indigenous artworks that the National Gallery of Australia has fielded for the last three years and what percentage they make up of the total complaints we receive.
Working off this information I made enquiries with staff in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander section and checked our feedback register and consider over the last three years to have only received one complaint regarding indigenous artworks and that is the scan attached. I have also attached for your information a summary of feedback we have received over the last three years in regards to our Indigenous collection and displays.
In terms of the total number of complaints we have received please see the numbers listed below which are referenced to in our annual reports. As we have not yet finished this financial year I have not included these figures as final analysis has not yet been concluded.
2015-16 |
We received 40 complaints (refer to page 31) https://nga.gov.au/AboutUs/Reports/NGA_AR_15-16.pdf |
2014-15 |
We received 37 complaints (refer to pages 49 – 50) |
I hope I have covered everything you were after but if not please do not hesitate to let me know what further information I can assist with.
Please do not hesitate to let me know if you have any questions.
Many thanks
Kirsti
