I refer to your email received Tuesday 16 August 2015 5:08 PM, sent via
the Right to Know website, in which you request (‘your FOI Request’) to
the Australian Electoral Commission (‘AEC’) under the [1]Freedom of
Information Act 1982 for access to documents relating to the nomination of
Mr Barnaby Thomas Gerard Joyce at the 2004 Federal election.

I have interpreted your request as seeking:

·        A copy of the Nomination Form for Senate Candidates in use by the
AEC immediately prior to the writs being issued for the 2004 Federal
Election;

·        A copy of any Information for Senate Candidates documents
produced by or provided by the Commonwealth and in use immediately prior
to the writs being issued for the 2004 Federal Election;

·        Documents, received by the AEC relating to the Nomination of Mr
Barnaby Thomas Gerard Joyce to run for election in Queensland to The
Senate in the 2004 Federal Election, being documents relating to his
nomination and not to his campaign for election;

·        A copy of the completed nomination form relating to the
Nomination of Mr Barnaby Thomas Gerard Joyce to run for election in
Queensland to The Senate in 2004 Federal Election; and

·        Documents, including any receipts issued, relating to the refund
of the deposit made in relation to the Nomination of Mr Barnaby Thomas
Gerard Joyce to run for election in Queensland to The Senate in 2004
Federal Election.

We received your request on 16 August 2017 5:08 PM and the 30 day
statutory period for processing your request commenced from the day after
that date. A decision is due from us by 15 September 2017. The period of
30 days may be extended if we need to consult third parties, impose a
charge or for other reasons. We will advise you if this happens.

possible, before we process any requested documents or impose a final

Dear Australian Electoral Commission,

 

Mr Barnaby Thomas Gerard Joyce was elected to the Senate for Queensland in
the 2004 Federal Election. His term as a Senator began 1 July 2005.

 

I hereby request the following Government Information documents which I
consider to be of great public importance:

 

a) A copy of the Nomination Form for Senate Candidates in use by the AEC
immediately prior to the writs being issued for the 2004 Federal Election;

 

b) A copy of any Information for Senate Candidates documents produced by
or provided by the Commonwealth and in use immediately prior to the writs
being issued for the 2004 Federal Election;

 

c) Documents received by the AEC relating to the Nomination of Mr Barnaby
