Transfer of request under section 16 of the FOI Act

 

I refer to your request received 14 February 2014 in which you sought access under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (the FOI Act) to documents relating to:

 

I request all correspondence and material related to "A Storyboard on People Smuggling", in particular:

 

1. Discussion and debate surrounding whether the storyboard needed notations in Arabic, English, or Persian Farsi (if at all).

 

2. Discussion and debate surrounding what artistic style the storyboard should have had (i.e. Western, Manga etc.)

 

3. Correspondence between the artist and the Department in relation to the inclusion or non-inclusion of certain content in the storyboard.

 

4. Correspondence between the Minister and the Department in relation to the inclusion or non-inclusion of certain content in the storyboard.

 

5. Correspondence within the Department on whether the storyboard was to be eventually produced as an animated cartoon.

 

6. Discussion and debate relating to which ethnic group the main character was to be depicted as (i.e. Haraza, Pashtun etc.)

 

7. Discussion and debate as to if the storyboard was to be printed as a coffee-table book and sold in boutique shops in gentrified suburbs in Afghanistan.

The documents relevant to your request are held by and are more closely connected to the functions of the Australian Customs and Border Protection service (ACBP).
