PURPOSE
The COVID-19 pandemic requires a heightened level of awareness and 
response to interpersonal contact to ensure a decreased likelihood of exposure 
during operations. 
This guideline provides information regarding the planning and safe conduct 
requirements for contactless shift changeovers to prevent the transmission of 
COVID-19 if it happens to be present. 
OFF-GOING CREW (WIPE UP AND WALK AWAY) 
Ventilate 
o Naturally ventilate station as appropriate (30 mins)
Disinfect 
o Disinfect kitchen, bathrooms, door handles and offices with 70%
Alcohol wipes or BA disinfectant, with attention to high touch
surfaces in the station and appliance/s.
Handover 
o Station Commander to make handover notes in SPS

Depart 
o  Once instructed by Station Commander, exit station as entire shift, and 
depart in private vehicles.  
o  Ensure you sign-off the Services NSW QR Code. 
 
INCOMING CREW (CONFIRMATION CLEAN) 
 
Stage and Stay 
o  Wait in private vehicles  
o  Once instructed by Station Commander, enter station  
o  Sign in on the Services NSW QR Code  
Disinfect 
o  Disinfect kitchen, bathrooms, door handles and offices with 70% Alcohol 
wipes or BA disinfectant, with attention to high touch surfaces in the 
station and appliance/s. 
During Shift  
o  Confirm local restrictions 
o  Only leave station for essential food, goods or services   
o  Only one person may enter shops, food establishment (ensure masks are 
worn at all times) 
o  Conform with QR Check-In Requirements at all venues.  
Return to Station 
o  Disinfect high touch points on appliance with 70% Alcohol wipes or BA 
disinfectant. 
 
STAY BACK  
o  Limit interaction with oncoming crew. 
o  Inspectors to ensured notifiable absences staff are recalled commencing 
at beginning of shift.
