Dear National Indigenous Australians Agency,

I seek access under the FOI Act to:

1) Any request for information from the Minister for Indigenous Australians or his Office on the exploitation of Indigenous artists.
2) Any information provided by the National Indigenous Australians Agency to the Minister for Indigenous Australians or his office on the exploitation of Indigenous Australians.
3) Any record of action taken by the Minister for Indigenous Australians to address the exploitation of Indigenous artists including any letters to the Minister for Communications and the Arts or the Prime Minister.
4) Any consultation the Minister for Indigenous Australians has undertaken with the Indigenous Advisory Council on the exploitation of Indigenous artists.

I refer to the your Freedom of Information request currently being
processed by the Office of the Minister for Indigenous Australians.

 

Consultation

During a final review of the documents relevant to your request, documents
relating to third parties have been identified.

 

As your request relates to the personal, professional, business,
commercial or financial affairs of third parties, pursuant to section 26A,
27 and 27A of the FOI Act, the Minister’s Office is required to consult
with the effected third parties and provide them an opportunity to make
submissions regarding the release of the documents.

 

Accordingly, under section 15(6) of the FOI Act the timeframe for
processing your request will be extended by 30 days to allow the
consultation process to be conducted.

 

The revised due date for a decision is on or before 18 January 2020.

The National Indigenous Australians Agency will commence its annual close
down from 25 December 2019 to 1 January 2020 (inclusive). Normal business
