FOI, Department of Home Affairs

UNCLASSIFIED

Good afternoon Mr Hirsch

I refer to your email below seeking a copy of the notification to the OAIC of the agreement to an extension of time to respond to FOI request FA 19/04/01141.

The Department is proposing to respond to you informally in this matter, outside the formal provisions of the FOI Act, and have not registered your request as a formal FOI request at this point in time. I do apologise for the delay in responding to you on your query.

We have reviewed your previous FOI request FA 19/04/01141, and whilst you did agree to the extension of time under section 15AA of the FOI Act, due to an administrative error, that agreement was not recorded in our case management system.

Due to the very large number of requests that the Department processes, the Department reports agreements to extensions of time in batches on a weekly basis to the OAIC. As the agreement with you was not recorded in our system, the report for that particular week did not include your agreement, and as such, it was not reported to the OAIC.

The Department therefore holds no documents which would be relevant to your request below.

Based on the fact that we hold no relevant documents, and have provided you with the information above, we have now closed this matter.

If you have any further queries in this regard, please do not hesitate to contact me.

With kind regards
Alison Smith
