Building Survey of Waterloo Redfern Public Housing

Pratichi Chatterjee made this Government Information (Public Access) request to NSW Land and Housing Corporation

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

The request was successful.

Pratichi Chatterjee

Dear NSW Land and Housing Corporation,

I would like to request copies of the latest document that contains a building survey of the public housing in Redfern and Waterloo. I am looking for a document that reviews the structural integrity, condition and lifespan of any or all of the public housing buildings there.

Please consider this an administrative/informal access request. If for some reason, your request cannot be dealt with in this way, please treat this as a formal GIPA request.

Thanks for your help.

Yours faithfully,

Pratichi Chatterjee

Anke Gibbons,

Dear Ms Chatterjee,

I refer to your email to NSW Land and Housing Corporation dated 28
September 2016 seeking access to information relating to building surveys
of the public housing in Redfern and Waterloo.  In order for us to deal
with your request we will require a formal access application. Please
complete the formal access application form on our website

In order for us to be able to process your application can you please be

Dear Anke,

I have received your letter acknowledging my GIPA request regarding building surveys in Waterloo.

Many thanks for that.

I think if the request is not refused I am supposed to receive material by the 17th of November. Is that right?

Best,

Pratichi Chatterjee

Dear Anke,

Many thanks for the opportunity to amend my GIPA request.

As mentioned in our telephone conversation I am making the amendement electronically in this message.

I would like to access the structurual surveys carried out in the last 5 years on the following high rise buildings on the Waterloo Estate in Sydney- James Cook, Matavai, Turanga, Daniel Solander, Marton and Banks.

If no structural surveys have been carried out for these buildings in the last 5 years, I would like access to structural surveys or structural testing that was used to inform the Redfern-Waterloo Built Environment Plan Stage 2 from 2011.

Please do feel free to contact me if you need any further information.

Many thanks,

Pratichi Chatterjee

Dear Anke,

Happy new year. Hope you are well.

I just wanted to chase up on the structural survey requests for the Waterloo Estate. I think you mentioned in our telephone conversation that you have the documents and you should be able to obtain them by the 2nd week of January, around the 17th I think.

Do let me know if that's all still good.

Thanks for your help so far.

Best,

Pratichi Chatterjee

Anke Gibbons,

Dear Pratichi

Firstly, I apologise for the delay in responding.

I had prepared the notice of decision however I then searched other areas due to the BEP 2 information you listed in your reduced scope. I had to ensure that another department did or did not hold any supporting documents for the BEP 2 that falls within the scope of your request. There were staff on leave whom I need to liaise with in relation to the possible records.

I am submitting the decision for final approval and hope to have it to you by the end of the week.

Thank you in advance for your patience.

Dear Anke,

Further to our telephone conversation last week, I have not received any of the documentation that you mentioned you have.

As I have been waiting for this since November, I am putting in an external review.

Dear Pratichi

I refer to a telephone conversation towards the end of January 2017 regarding your amended application. I advised you that no records were held within the time frame you have requested and that my reading of the Redfern-Waterloo Built Environment Plan Stage 2 did not make any reference to structural surveys. I requested that you review the Redfern-Waterloo Built Environment Plan Stage 2 and indicate to me where you saw any reference of structural surveys in order to assist me in processing the amended application. I confirm that I have not heard from you in this regard.

Accordingly, I attach our notice of decision.
