contracts: Cth tender IDs CN3662514 and CN3662514-A1

The request was refused by Australian Taxation Office.

Dear Australian Taxation Office,

I request a copy of the contracts signed between the department, and Ernst & Young; associated with tender ID CN3662514 and CN3662514-A1.

Given the large amount of money involved with this tender; (>$2m) I ask that a public interest in the transparency of this matter be recognised, and so the ordinarily applicable FOI fee be waived in this instance.

Yours faithfully,

John Smith

Dear FOI,

I seek internal review of this decision 1-LK3Q49L.

The information regarding this contract on AusTender does not disclose any details regarding this contract, other than the identity of the service provider and the $ amount of the tender.

Given the amount of money associated with this tender ($2M), the public interest is not discharged merely by the information already available on AusTender. I seek that this decision be reviewed and that more details regarding the contract are provided.

What is the point of the FOI act if the most basic information about the procurement of services is out of bounds for inquiry by the public?

Yours sincerely,

John Smith

Refused on the ground that to disclose the details of the contract; would result in an actionable 'breach of confidence' civil claim
