Correspondence sent by acting assistant commissioner Kate McMullan to Federal Court chief executive Sia Lagos on 23 December 2020

The request was refused by Federal Court of Australia.

Dear Federal Court of Australia,

In an article published in the Australian on 8 February 2022 (Untried lawyers score key positions) there are extracts from correspondence that acting assistant commissioner Kate McMullan sent to the chief executive of the Federal Court on 23 December 2020.

Under the FOI Act, I request access to a copy of that correspondence. Please sent it to me by email.

Yours faithfully,

Mila

Dear Federal Court of Australia,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Federal Court of Australia's handling of my FOI request 'Correspondence sent by acting assistant commissioner Kate McMullan to Federal Court chief executive Sia Lagos on 23 December 2020'.

I do not think Registrar Hammerton Cole has applied the public interest assessment correctly. I would suggest that there is a very strong public interest in being provided with access to the correspondence sent by acting assistant commissioner Kate McMullan to Federal Court chief executive Sia Lagos on 23 December 2020 because Kate McMullan's investigation is under review by the Commonwealth Ombudsman for likely errors. The public should know what the outcome of her investigation was and why she did not make adverse findings about Warwick Soden and Sia Lagos lying to Justice Greenwood.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.righttoknow.org.au/request/c...

Yours faithfully,

Mila
