Data behind the Visualisations on the Centre for Road Safety website

Nigel Gladstone made this Government Information (Public Access) request to Transport for NSW

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Transport for NSW should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Transport for NSW,

Can you please release the data that powers the visualisations on this website - http://roadsafety.transport.nsw.gov.au/s...

It is currently locked and only available as PDF or an image which is of no use for analysis.

The website says data is available for the period 2011 to 2015, can this please be released in CSV or excel formats? Even a Tableau workbook would be of use.

This is not a demanding request as all it takes is one box to be unticked in Tableau to make the data available.

I have previously requested this directly with a media officer at Transport for NSW and then Trish Sunga a Senior Media Officer but she claimed it "would take too much time".

Trish kindly wrote to me after refusing the request saying:

"The data is available in that the numbers are on the page.

I sympathise that the figures aren’t presented in an ideal way for your needs.

Given the size of the information you need, I suggest you lodge a formal request through the GIPA process."

Please let me know if you need any further details.

Yours faithfully,

Nigel Gladstone
