Documents related to invoices issued to Tourism Australia by consulting firm KPMG for the period 2005 - 2007

Richard Smith made this Freedom of Information request to Tourism Australia

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

Tourism Australia did not have the information requested.

Dear Tourism Australia,

Recent press articles have raised questions relating to records kept by Tourism Australia relating to work performed by the professional services firm KPMG for or on behalf of Tourism Australia on or around the year 2006.

The requirement for Commonwealth Government entities to create, hold and securely maintain & archive records relating to the ongoing operation of government and the expenditure of funds is an important role of government.

Accordingly, I hereby request the following Government Information documents which I consider to be of great public importance:

a) Documents detailing the number of invoices sent to Tourism Australia by the multinational consulting firm KPMG (including any subsidiaries or joint ventures owned or controlled by KPMG) covering the period from 1st July 2005 to 30th June 2007; and

b) Documents detailing the total amount claimed for each invoice sent to Tourism Australia by the multinational consulting firm KPMG (including any subsidiaries or joint ventures owned or controlled by KPMG) covering the period from 1st July 2005 to 30th June 2007.

If this can be answered as informal request, please do so.

Otherwise, please proceed with this as a formal request under the Freedom of Information principles & framework, i.e. the Freedom of Information Act 1982 & other associated guidelines and regulations.

Yours faithfully,

Richard Smith
