Expenses incurred/claimed by A-G in meeting with George Pell

anon made this Freedom of Information request to Attorney-General

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Attorney-General should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Attorney-General,

This is an application under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (the FOI Act).

I note that the Attorney-General met and apparently at with Mr George Pell in May 2015, as reported here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BmaXYN9S....

I seek access to documents which concern any expenses incurred/claimed by the Attorney-General associated with his meeting with Mr George Pell. Such documents may include relevant restaurant receipts, taxi receipts and credit card statements.

There’s a wide public interest in any documents which indicate that the Government considers it an appropriate use of tax payer funds to develop and/or maintain the Attorney-General’s/Liberal Party’s relationship with a person of Mr Pell’s character.

In making this request, I note the decision of the Administrative Appeals Tribunal in Dreyfus and Attorney-General (Commonwealth of Australia) (Freedom of Information) [2015] AATA 995, where it was decided that the Attorney-General made a decision under the FOI Act with the intent of undermining the objects of the FOI Act. I request that, for the purpose of this request, the Attorney-General put aside all vested commercial, political, personal or other interests and comply with the obligations imposed on him by the FOI Act.

Thanks

Dear Attorney-General,

Is there a particular reason why you haven't complied with the obligation imposed on you by paragraph 15(5)(a) of the FOI Act in relation to my request?
