Dear Mr Nothdurft,
Please find attached the requested datacube. Please note that this analysis was based on Telstra network information (such as ADSL port availability) provided to the department in 2014 and National Broadband Network (NBN) rollout progress as at August 2015.

As such, the data is extremely dated and this should be considered carefully in its interpretation. This was the last version of the data compiled. There are no plans to update this dataset.

Regards

Dear Department of Communications

Thank you for releasing the data so quickly and seamlessly.

For historical reasons it is an important record, personally it should be made available again so that it can be displayed via the NationalMap.

It provides insight into how Broadband has progressed in this country.

It also shows the Telstra distribution boundaries, how they vary in number of premises and why FttN was a poor choice of technologies for the NBN.

I understand the dataset would not be updated with the current state and change to NBN.

Why was the historic dataset removed from public record was it error or was there a directive, and if so who from? There may be other valid reasons than just that it was considered legacy. It think the public had a right to know.

Yours sincerely,

Timothy Nothdurft
