FOI, Minister for Social Services

Dear Reece,

Thank you for your email below requesting information on government
housing homes in South East Queensland.

We would like to advise that, in its current form, your request below does
not constitute a valid freedom of information request. The Freedom of
Information Act 1982 (FOI Act) sets out quite specific requirements for
applicants, that must be met in order for their request to be considered a
valid FOI request.

In order to make sure that your request is valid, it must:

·        be in writing;

·        state that the request is an application for the purposes of the
FOI Act;

·        provide sufficient information concerning the document(s) to
assist us to identify them; and

·        specify how notices under the FOI Act may be sent to you.

At present, the Department cannot begin processing your request, as the
statutory period for processing an FOI request does not begin until a
valid request is received.

If you choose to resubmit a valid request, the Department would be happy
to consider it, however we would like to advise that DSS does not hold the
information that you seek. Public housing is managed by State Governments,
so we suggest you contact the Queensland Government in relation to your
request. Information about public housing is available on their
[1]website. If this information does not satisfy your request, you can
submit a right to information application [2]here.

Kind regards,
