Private use of social media advice provided to employees

James Smith made this Freedom of Information request to SA Office for the Southern Suburbs as part of a batch sent to 204 authorities

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

The request was refused by SA Office for the Southern Suburbs.

Dear SA Office for the Southern Suburbs,

This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act.

I request documents related to the ten most recent instances where an employee has sought information, advice, guidance, or opinion on their social media use in a private capacity.

I limit the scope of documents to:
- the original request from the employee
- the agency/department's response
- any follow-up questions and response
- only those sent to a relevant HR / conduct / social media (or similar) team (rather than managers across all areas of the organisation)
- where the original request was created in the last 2 years

Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

Yours faithfully,

James Smith

Afternoon James,

I Trust you are well?

I head up Southern Connections, so the request below has come to me.

Just a quick one – Office for the Southern Suburbs has not been an entity
for around the past three years.

Are you able to provide any further information on this request?

Warmest regards

CK

Braendler, Fiona (DCSI),

Good afternoon Mr Smith

I refer to your email received by Ms Haydon on the 8^th August 2017 making
an application under the Freedom of Information Act 1991 (the Act) to the
SA Office of the Southern Suburbs.

You have sought access to the following documents:

I request documents related to the ten most recent instances where an
employee has sought information, advice, guidance, or opinion on their
social media use in a private capacity.

I limit the scope of documents to:

- the original request from the employee

- the agency/department's response

- any follow-up questions and response

- only those sent to a relevant HR / conduct / social media (or similar)
team (rather than managers across all areas of the organisation)

- where the original request was created in the last 2 years

The Office for the Southern Suburbs is now known as Southern Connections
and falls under the Department for Communities and Social Inclusion
(DCSI). As you have already submitted an identical application to DCSI
(received also on the 8^th August), any information that Southern
Connections holds would be captured in that application, making this
application redundant.

However, please note that I have not yet received a response from you in
relation my advice to you that I could not consider your application to
DCSI to be valid until the relevant application fee was paid, as required
under section 13(c) of the Act. Your application to the Office for the
Southern Suburbs is also not considered to be valid as the relevant
application fee has not been paid.

I do not intend to pursue anything further with this application to the
Office for the Southern Suburbs for the reasons outlined above.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me should you require any assistance.

Kind regards

Fiona
