DECISION ON FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACCESS APPLICATION
I refer to your application under the
Freedom of Information Act 2016 (the Act), received by
the Justice and Community Safety (JACS) Directorate on 3 November 2023. You provided
further details to clarify the scope of your request on 9 November 2023, confirming you
sought access to:
“complaints filed to the ACT Supreme Court for the years 2021 to October 2023. I am
interested in complaints of which the judges' names, nature of complaint, and any
associated outcomes are available.”
Authority
I am an Information Officer appointed by the Director-General under section 18 of the Act to
deal with access applications made under Part 5 of the Act.
Decision
I advise that on 1 February 2017, the Judicial Council was established to consider complaints
about the conduct of judicial officers, which includes judges of the ACT Supreme Court .
As such, I confirm no information relevant to the scope is held by the Justice and Community
Safety Directorate per section 53 of the Act.
