Extension of time to process your Freedom of Information (FOI) request – Any Privacy Impact 
Assessments related to the Digital Drivers License 
The Department is currently processing your FOI request; however, additional time is required to 
consult relevant stakeholders under Part IV of the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Vic) (the Act) 
and to inform them of any interim or final decision in relation to your request. 
 
Section 21(2)(b) of the Act permits agencies to seek an extension of time for a period of not more than 
30 days with the agreement of the applicant. The Act does not limit the number of times agencies may 
seek extensions under 21(2)(b). 
 
I write to seek your agreement for an extension of up to 30 days (up to 30 June 2024) in which to 
process your request and would appreciate receiving your written consent for an extension by e-mail 
before 31 May 2024 (the due date of the request). In the meantime, the Department will continue to 
process your request.
