As part of its work administering th
e Road Vehicle Standards (RVS) legislation, the Department of
Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts (the Department) maintains
databases o
f reports since 2016 submitted by members of the public, industry and other regulators regarding
potential vehicle safety issues or alleged non-compliance with RVS legislation.
This document provides the number of such reports received by the Department of engine failures involving
cracked pistons for Toyota Prado 120-series and 150-series cars.
