Dear Glenn
FOI Request: Freedom of Information Request No. LEX9254
Your FOI Request
On 11 June 2025, you wrote to the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) seeking access under the
Freedom of Information Act 1982 (
FOI Act) as follows:
I seek access to the latest Party Constitution, received by the AEC, from the registered political
party The Australian Citizens Party.
Identification of Documents
I identified one document that fell within the scope of your FOI Request (the ‘Relevant Document’).
The schedule of documents in
Attachment A provides a description of the Relevant Document and
the access decision for the Relevant Document.
Decision
With regard to the Relevant Document identified in
Attachment A, I have decided:
• Access in part: Document No 1
The Relevant Document is provided as a separate attachment to this decision.
More information, including my reasons for my decision, is set out in
Attachment B. Third Party Consultation As part of my decision-making process, I consulted with a third party seeking their submissions as to
whether the Relevant Document attracted an exemption under the FOI Act. The third party did not
submit that I should seek to exercise any exemptions under the FOI Act.
However, this consultation process extended the timeframe to process your request by 30 days to 11
August 2025, in accordance with section 15(6) of the FOI Act.
Review Rights
You are entitled to seek a review of this decision.
Attachment C sets out your rights to apply for
review if you are dissatisfied with my decision.
Yours sincerely
Lachlan Carroll
