Request for documents under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Cth)
1. I refer to your email to the Australian Human Rights Commission
(Commission) dated 6 September 2025 making a request under the
Freedom
of Information Act 1982 (Cth) (FOI Act). You requested:
copies of all expenses claimed by President Hugh de Kretser, Commissioner
Lorraine Finlay, and Race Discrimination Commissioner, Giridharan Sivaraman
between 1 January 2024 to 1 September 2025
2. I confirm that I am an officer authorised under s 23(1) of the FOI Act to make
decisions in relation to Freedom of Information requests.
Searches and outcomes
3. I asked the Commission’s Finance team to conduct a search for these
expenses. Please note that the Finance team interprets “expenses claimed”
to include:
• Charges on corporate credit cards; and
• Expenses paid personally and reimbursed.
Decision
4. I am granting access, in ful , to 3 tables of expenses generated as result of
the search described in paragraph 3 above.

Internal review
a. Under s 54 of the FOI Act, you may apply for an internal review of
my decision by writing to the Commission within 30 days of the date
of this letter stating the reasons why you believe a review of the
decision is necessary.
b. The internal review wil be carried out by another FOI officer within
30 days.

Information Commissioner Review
a. Under s 54L of the FOI Act, you may apply to the Information
Commissioner to review my decision.
b. An application for review by the Information Commissioner must be
made in writing within 60 days of the date of this letter.
c. You may lodge an application for review by the Information
