Please provide the following information for all
AAT/ART matters to which the
NOIA
was a Respondent, for the 12 months from 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2025:
1. For all
AAT/ART matters that went to hearing, the overall average number of days
that a matter was at hearing, and the overall average daily cost per matter incurred by
the
NOIA in participating in those hearings (being the cost of hearing days only).
For matters that went to hearing and were finalised between 1 July 2024 and 30 June 2025,
the average duration of a substantive hearing was 2.5 days (note, this does not include
hearings 'on the papers'). The corresponding average expenditure per hearing day,
excluding GST, was approximately $7,265.

Methodology:
The average monthly spend was calculated by dividing the total external expenditure on
resolved hearing matters by the total number of months those matters were active.
2. For all
AAT/ART matters, including those matters that did not go to hearing, the
average total monthly cost per matter incurred by the agency in being a Respondent
in these AAT/ART matters.
