FREEDOM OF INFORMATION (FOI) REQUEST
I refer to your application under the
Freedom of Information Act 2016 (the FOI Act)
received by the Education Directorate (the Directorate) on 27 October 2025, in which you
are seeking access to:
Information about decisions regarding actual or planned in-sourcing of services or
functions by ACT Government that are currently, or were previously, provided by
private or not for profit sectors, since 15 October 2016, specifically:
1. The name of the service/function
2. The date of commencement (actual or planned)
3. The number of staff brought in-house (actual or planned)
4. The names of the affected providers of the services/functions
The Directorate is now processing your request and in accordance with section 40 of the
FOI Act, we are required to provide you with a decision on access to records within the
terms of your request within 30 working days of receipt, being 8 December 2025.
If we identify that consultation with a relevant third party is likely to be required to
conduct this process, in line with the FOI Act, the decision date wil be extended by 15
working days. We wil inform you if this needs to occur.
Charges
Please be aware that processing charges may be payable in relation to your request.
Should you be liable to pay a processing charge, you wil be notified in writing of the
preliminary assessment and given an opportunity to make an application that the charge
should be remitted in whole or in part. This may affect the time within which your
application is processed.
Open Access Information
The FOI Act requires that details regarding your request such as your application, decision
notices, and information released to you, must be recorded in the agency’s disclosure log

and be made publicly available between three and ten working days after a decision on
access has been given to you. Please be aware that while no personal information wil be
included in the published information, al other information wil be published on the
Directorate’s website at

disclosure-logs, unless it is about your business, commercial, financial or professional
affairs and publication is deemed unreasonable in the circumstances.
