Re: ADHD guideline search date question [SEC=OFFICIAL]
Thanks Geraint for this advice.
We will meet to make a plan Monday and if needs be we might organise a zoom to discuss with you.
Unfortunately we have had to cancel so many of our guideline development group (GDG) meetings with COVID that
it has really negatively impacted us.

Hi
The answer is unfortunately yes.
A number of developers are in a similar position and we have been asking them to arrange top‐up searches to
ensure they meet the mandatory criterion C4 if the NHMRC procedures and requirements which requires a latest
search date within 12 months of public consultation (a December public consultation would make it 18 months)
and within 20 months of submission to NHMRC.
Sorry if this is not the response you were hoping for.
Regards

Subject: ADHD guideline search date question
Dear Geraint and Stephanie,
I hope you are both keeping well.
May I please ask your thoughts about an issue we have with our search dates? COVID has considerably impacted
the availability of our clinical contributors to review the technical evidence reports and draft/GRADE
recommendations. We are hoping to finalise recommendations in the next month, and meet 6‐7 November,
however our searches were done as far back as July 2020. I have rerun one of the searches and am planning to list
the new studies that meet PICO according to abstract under the heading "Articles awaiting assessment". Given the
difficulties of getting to this stage, it is not really feasible to fully review and incorporate search results into
evidence reviews.
We aim for public consultation in December.
Do you envisage problems for us in relation to the search date?
Thanks and best wishes,
