Minister for Government Services, the Hon Stuart Robert MP, released the first annual update
on the government’s Digital Transformation Strategy during an address at the AIIA ACT
Ministerial Forum in Canberra on 29 November 2019.
In his address, the Minister outlined the Government’s commitment to deliver seamless
services designed around the needs of Australians. The Government is reforming service
delivery to ensure services are personalised and fit for the digital age.
People’s lives are complex. Dealing with government should not be. Australians expect
government services to be equal to, if not better than, their experiences shopping or banking
online. To meet these expectations, the Government is embarking on a new way of delivering
services in Australia through digital transformation.
Perhaps the strongest signal of our commitment to reforming the way we deliver
government services is Services Australia.
When the PM announced the establishment of Services Australia, it wasn’t simply a
rebrand or a rename.
We wanted to make it clear to the public, and the public service, that the priority of
government is excellence in service delivery.
Here is our vision of the future of government services.
