improved battery usage

Today’s update provides the latest restrictions information from states and territories in
addition to performance improvements.
Update Details
Check updated restrictions in your area
As the situation with COVID-19 continues to change, state and territory governments respond
by releasing new advice on restrictions and border movements.
To help the public find this information easily and in one place, COVIDSafe now keeps users
up-to-date with the latest advice on restrictions and lockdowns for each state or territory. This
information is available directly from the COVIDSafe home screen to make it easy for users to
plan and respond to the latest restriction information in their area. This is the same information
that is available in the Coronavirus Australia App and at Australia.gov.au.
Users can check updated restriction information on specific activities in their state or territory.
For example, users can access relevant information on attending entertainment venues or
sporting events. This update includes a way to check the latest advice on current COVID-19
restrictions for every state and territory, including domestic travel, gatherings and
entertainment venues.
Improved battery optimisation on Android devices
Android users will find improved battery performance while running the COVIDSafe app. This
release contains an update for most Android devices that conserves energy by operating more
efficiently and searching for connections only when required.
We encourage all users to regularly update their app to ensure they are receiving the optimal
experience while running COVIDSafe.
Source code update and next release
We have updated the publicly available application source code in line with today’s release. We
continue to encourage the tech community to review and provide feedback within the
source
code repository (https://covidsafe.gov.au/app-code-terms-and-conditions.html).
We are currently working on the next update to the COVIDSafe app and will continue to
monitor and respond to community feedback.
