The Australian Government is seeking industry engagement to help prepare us for reopening
to the world – with smarter, easier, more secure visas, permits, accreditations, licences, and
registrations.
The Hon Alan Tudge MP, Acting Minister for Immigration, Citizenship, Migrant Services and
Multicultural Affairs, and the Hon Stuart Robert MP, Minister for Government Services –
recently announced a shift in the government’s approach to technology procurement.
While the focus remains on how people access government services, a new digital platform will
be built as a reusable, whole-of-government Permissions Capability. The technology will allow
multiple parts of government to solve similar problems in an efficient, collaborative, and
technologically integrated way, improving the user experience.
The Department of Home Affairs have released a Notice of Intent to procure regarding the
Permissions Capability on AusT
ender, along with a supporting Industry Information Paper
(https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/programs-subsite/files/permissions-capability-industry-
information-paper.pdf). A Request for Tender (RFT) was released on 23 October 2020.
The RFT pack is available for download on
