Dear Josh,
On 24 November 2025 the Australian National University received your request seeking
access to documents under the
Freedom of Information Act 1982 (the Act)
.
Scope of the Request
Your request stated you were requesting:
“.. all emails between the Office of the Vice-Chancellor to all members of the
ANU Council from 17 July 2023 to 18 December 2023.”
You specified that you wanted only one copy of any given email (not a copy of each
email sent to all members if they are all on the same email trail).
The purpose of this letter is to provide you with a decision on your request for access
under the Act.

requests to access documents or to amend or annotate records.

Decision
The relevant areas of the University were contacted and a search conducted for
documents relating to the scope of your request, but no relevant paper based or
electronic documents could be located.
I am required to give you a decision on your request. Given that no documents relating
to your request were found to exist, I have decided, as an officer authorised under
section 23(1) of the FOI Act to make decisions in relation to FOI requests, to refuse your
Freedom of Information request under section 24A(1).
