Subject: TRIM: Freedom of Information request - Fire brigade intervention model Response on 1 April 2016
From: Ms Jensen <xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx@xxxxxxxxxxx.xxx.xx>
To: Freedom of Information <xxx@xxxxxxxx.xxx.xx>

Dear Australian Building Codes Board,

On 1 April 2016 the following response was received to an FOI request: https://www.righttoknow.org.au/request/international_fire_engineering_g_3#incoming-5147

The following is stated by the Australian Building Codes Board's FOI team in this response in relation to the use of the Fire Brigade Intervention Model (FBIM):

"This time period is used to estimate the size of the fire they should expect to be facing when they arrive on-site, which is an important factor in facilitating safe fire brigade operations."

Please provide the independent study that the Australian Building Codes Board (ABCB) used/referenced, and/or any state or territory fire service standard operating procedures (or related documents) which the ABCB used/referenced, which shows that fire size is an important factor to consider in facilitating safe fire brigade operations".

Yours faithfully,

Ms Jensen
