Description: On 3/11/11 at 9:49 AEST the Australian Red Cross advised that

was interviewed by a journalist from The Age. The client stated he
was interviewed a 'few days' after his community detention placement s. 47F(1)

were in attendance. The client stated there was no interpreter used. The clients details were made
anonymous and the article was published online and in print. The client was not aware that the
interview would be published and stated he would not have agreed to the interview if it was clear that
it would be published. Red Cross was advised on 28/11/10 and discussed the potential outcome of
such interviews with the client. Red Cross attempted to contact DIAC case Manager on 28/10/11 but
was unsuccessful. NatComs were notified 03/11/11.
