Freedom of Information request 18-20
The purpose of this letter is to give you a decision about access to documents that you requested
under the
Freedom of Information Act 1982 (FOi Act).
Background to Decision
On 9 August 2018 you requested access to documents relating to the substance ligandrol (also
known as LGD 4033). Specifically you sought access to:
•
The names of Athletes who have recently tested positive for the anabolic agent ligandrol;
and
•
The sport or sports in which those Athletes competed.
Your request was received on 9 August 2018. An acknowledgment of your request was sent to
you via email on that same day. That correspondence informed you that a decision was due to be
made by
Monday 10 September 2018.
Authority and Materials Considered
I am an officer authorised under section 23(1) of the FOi Act to make decisions in relation to FOi
requests.
In reaching my decision I have taken into consideration:

The relevant provisions of the FOi Act;
•
Relevant guidelines issued by the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner;
•
Relevant Tribunal and Federal Court decisions concerning the operation of the FOi Act;
and
•
Additional correspondence between yourself and an ASADA FOi officer during the
processing of your request.
