Your application to become a party to an Information Commissioner
review
Dear Peter
Thank you for your email of 30 June 2019 requesting to be made a party to this Information
Commissioner review (IC review) of a decision made by the Australian Human Rights
Commission (the AHRC) on 13 May 2019.
As a delegate of the Information Commissioner, I am authorised to make decisions under s
55A(3) of the
Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Cth) to make a person a party to an IC review.
Following consideration of your email of 30 June 2019, and noting that you made the FOI
request the subject of this IC review, I have decided to make you a party to this IC review
(MR19/00321) as I am satisfied that your interests are affected by the IC reviewable decision.
At this stage, the matter is awaiting allocation to a review adviser. Due to the number of IC
review applications on hand, this may take in excess of 6 months.
As a party to this IC review, you will be given an opportunity to provide submissions before
any decision adverse to you is made.
If the Information Commissioner decides to substitute or vary the decision under review, all
parties will be advised of their review rights on finalisation of the matter.
In the meanwhile, please provide an alternative email address for the OAIC to communicate
with you about this matter which is not via the Right to Know website.
If you would like to discuss this matter, please contact the OAIC on 1300 363 992 or by email
a
t xxxxx@xxxx.xxx.xx and quote reference number MR19/00321.
