Subject: Freedom of Information request - Refugee and Asylum seekers who have entered through official routes into Australia from 2000-2019

Dear Ministers Council on Asylum Seekers and Detention,

I am looking to find information on the rates of refugees who have entered the country, under the Australian definition of refugees (Rather than the international).

I am specifically interested in understanding the relationship between number of asylum seekers and the institution of the detention camps for refugees who do not enter through 'legal means.' In that regard I would also like the number of refugees and asylum seekers who have gone through the detention camps from 2000-2019.

Yours faithfully,

Tova Goldstein
