Dear Chris H,
I refer to your application in which you seek access to documents under the
Freedom of Information
Act 1982 (FOI Act) regarding:
a document with names of FOREIGN entities who are creditors of the economy 's debt
Your request was received by the ABS on 20 December 2019 and the 30 day statutory period for
processing your request commenced from that date.
It is ABS policy to impose charges consistent with s.29 of the FOI Act. If applicable we will inform
you of charges for this request once we have conducted a search for documents. If charges are
imposed and you wish to proceed, we will require a deposit in order for us to continue processing
the request in full.
Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns regarding this email.
Please note that the ABS offices will be closed from COB Tuesday 24 December 2019 and will
reopen on Thursday 2 January 2020.

ATTACHMENT B: INFORMATION ON RIGHTS OF REVIEW
1. APPLICATION FOR INTERNAL REVIEW OF DECISION
If you disagree with our decision you have the right to apply for an internal review under section
54 of the FOI Act.
Application for a review of the decision must be made within 30 days of receipt of this letter.
No particular form is required but it would assist the decision-maker were you to set out in the
application the grounds on which you consider that the decision should be reviewed.

2. APPLICATION TO AUSTRALIAN INFORMATION COMMISSIONER (INFORMATION

Section 54L of the Act gives you the right to seek a review of the decision from the Information
Commissioner. An application for review must be made within 60 days of receiving the decision.
Applications for review must be in writing and must:
give details of how notices must be sent to you; and
include a copy of the notice of decision.

Section 70 of the Act provides that a person may complain to the Information Commissioner
