Freedom of Information Request No. 152-2020 
Request deemed withdrawn under Section 24AB of the Act 
 
I refer to three (3) requests you sent to ASIC dated between 26 July 2020 and 28 July 
2020, seeking access to documents under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (FOI 
Act). 
 
The  three  FOI  requests  to  which  this  notice  relates  are  described  in  the  attached 
schedule.  
 
On 10 August 2020, I sent you a notice under section 24AB of the FOI Act. The notice 
advised  you  that  the  three  FOI  requests  may  be  treated  as  a  single  request  under 
section 24(2) of the FOI Act because the subject matter of the three requests were the 
same or substantial y the same. The notice also advised you  that a practical refusal 
reason  existed  in  relation  to  your  request  because  your  request  did  not  provide 
information  reasonably  necessary  to  al ow  me  to  identify  the  documents  sought  by 
your request.  
 
Deemed withdrawal 
 
This letter is further to the notice to identify documents under section 24AB of the FOI 
Act I sent you on 10 August 2020. The notice advised you that you were required to 
contact me before the end of the consultation period to either: 
 
(a) withdrawn the request;  
(b) made a revised request; or  
(c) indicate that you do not wish to revise the request.  
 
The notice advised you that the consultation period ended 14 days after the date of 
the letter under sections 24AB(6) and 24AB(7) of the FOI Act. Therefore, the consultation 
period for the practical refusal notice ended at close of business 24 August 2020.

As you did not take any of the actions mentioned above within the consultation period, 
your request is now deemed withdrawn under sections 24AB(6) and 24AB(7) of the FOI 
Act. 
 
You remain welcome  to resubmit your request at any time,  taking into account the 
issues I raised in the noticed dated 10 August 2020.
