Subject: Threatened Species Licence to remove one Sydney Blue Gum 
 
I refer to your application to the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment dated 13 July 
2020 for a Threatened Species Licence, a class of biodiversity conservation licence under Part 2 of 
the Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016 (BC Act), to pick and damage the habitat of a critically 
endangered ecological community (CEEC), including by removing one Sydney Blue Gum 
(Eucalyptus saligna) from your property at 38 Fox Valley Road Wahroonga. This tree forms part of 
the Blue Gum High Forest CEEC. 
 
The Department understands that Ku-ring-gai Council’s Tree Management Officer has confirmed 
that this tree is a risk to life/property. The Department also understands approval from Council is 
not required. 
 
I have assessed your licence application in accordance with the provisions of the BC Act and the 
Biodiversity Conservation Regulation 2017 and I have decided to grant a biodiversity conservation 
licence for this action. 
 
A copy of your new biodiversity conservation licence is enclosed. Please note that your licence is 
subject to conditions. These conditions are outlined in the licence. It is an offence under s2.14(4) of 
the BC Act to breach a condition of a licence.

or cancel those licences can be viewed at

Condition

Replacement planting of one Sydney Blue Gum in a suitable location on your property to 
maintain canopy cover and biodiversity values. 
 
Note it is an offence under s2.14(4) of the Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016 to breach a condition
