Systems and Processes
CanPrint’s (IMS) in operation has been designed to ensure that quality products are produced in
order to meet the needs of customers and to ensure that adverse impacts to the environment are
minimised. CanPrint system procedures and work instructions have been written and implemented
to ensure a safe workplace for our staff. The IMS is implemented in relation to products, services
and operations conducted at the Fyshwick office and manufacturing site and the Hume Warehouse.
The IMS had been developed in order to meet the requirements of the international management
system standards relating to quality, environmental and work, health & safety management
(ISO9001:2015, ISO14001:2015 and AS/NZS4801:2001). The system also covers processes and
procedures required for the security of company and customer assets and information. Wherever
possible, any additional system requirements that apply to CanPrint’s operations are identified, the
aim is to incorporate these into the design and implementation of the IMS.
In addition, Elections ACT will benefit from our continual certification to international standards
related to Forrest Stewardship Council – Chain of Custody (FSC) and Programme for the
Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) as well as ISO 12647-2 Colour Management.
Each of the ISO Standards mentioned and the FSC and PEFC Standards are subject to regular and
ongoing external audits either on a six monthly or annual basis.

Security Arrangements
CanPrint has been a secure print provider to Government Departments and Agencies since 1997 and
during that time has established itself as a consistently reliable supplier whose management and
staff understand the responsibilities this brings for the organisation and each individual within it. We
work within all relevant legislation, polices and standards without exception.
Security Standards and Procedures
CanPrint has built a reputation around being a secure supplier who takes all necessary precautions
to protect clients’ work. Although we have tried and tested comprehensive physical and procedural
measures in place we are always happy to work in collaboration with customers to meet any
additional security requirements which may be needed for a particular project. David will be
available to discuss and arrange any additional requests for secure process or procedure.
CanPrint is a quality assured secure printer in accordance with AS/NZS ISO 9001:2015 with existing
work instructions in place for the processing of work with a security classification. CanPrint is familiar
with the Australian Government security requirements contained in the Protective Security Policy
Framework and the Information Security Manual.
Staff Security
CanPrint has strict security procedures in place for all staff. On commencement of employment, all
staff submits to a police check and key staff undergoes security screening by the Australian
Government Security Vetting Agency for Baseline or Negative Vetting Level 1 clearances. These
checks are updated as necessary.
Site Security
CanPrint’s Nyrang Street production premise has the following physical and operational security
features to prevent access by unauthorised persons:

Perimeter site fence
•
Exterior building lighting
•
External doors fitted with micro-switch alarms and 24 hour back to base alarm
monitoring
•
Regular after-hours patrols
•
Fire evacuation alarm and warden communication system.
•
Colour video cameras and continuous recording system covering complete building
perimeter and access points
•
Two designated building personnel access points fitted with monitored ‘proxy card’
electronic pass door control. All other external doors fitted with micro switch alarms
with 24 hour connection to the Grid Security base-station monitoring centre
•
Three internal doors fitted with ‘proxy card’ electronic pass access to control access to
specific areas within the building to authorised staff
•
Remote control ed access for delivery vehicles.

As CanPrint undertakes sensitive or confidential work for a number of clients there are strict
procedures in place regarding visitors. At reception all visitors are required to sign in and hand in any
mobile phones, cameras or other recording devices. Visitors are not given access to the premises
past the reception area without a member of CanPrint staff accompanying them at all times. All
guests are issued with a clearly identifiable pass which must be worn for the duration of their visit to
the premises.
Any areas in which secure work is being worked on are strictly off limits for visitors, and at any given
time our factory can be in lockdown depending on the secure nature of the work. All visits into the
production area must be confirmed by the Site Operations Manager before they take place.
