Freedom of Information (FOI) request - Access Decision
On 06 May 2021, the Department of Home Affairs (the Department) received a request for access
to document under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (the FOI Act).
The purpose of this letter is to provide you with a decision on your request for access under the
FOI Act.

Scope of request
You have requested access to the fol owing document:

until the date of this request (25 April 2021):
(1) Data regarding the number of travel ers determined to be exempt from outward travel
restrictions and not required to apply for an individual exemption. To the extent this data
can be disaggregated, I respectful y request that it be disaggregated by the categories of
travel er exempt from travel restrictions outlined in paragraph 2 of the 'Outward Travel
Restrictions Operation Directive' v7.
(2) Data regarding the number of travel ers who have applied for an individual exemption
to the outward travel restrictions. To the extent this data can be disaggregated, I
respectful y request that it be disaggregated by the general basis for the exemption request
(or by another similar categorisation adopted by DHA), as wel as by the country of intended
travel.
(3) Data regarding the number of travel ers who have been approved for an individual
exemption to the outward travel restrictions. To the extent this data can be disaggregated,
I respectful y request that it be disaggregated by the general basis for the exemption
request (or by another similar categorisation adopted by DHA), as wel as by the country
of intended travel.
