FOI 21/22-0046: Number of FOI requests refused by the NDIA between 1 January 2021
and 14 July 2021
Scope
The total number of FOI requests refused by the NDIA for the calender [sic]
year 2021. That is, the total number of FOI requests that once submitted
were refused (regardless of the justification) from January 2021 until 14 Jul
2021
Response
The National Disability Insurance Agency processes requests in accordance with the
Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Cth). This includes refusing requests where exemptions
may apply to documents. For example, if a person is seeking personal information and they
do not provide proof of identity or consent, then the request is refused on privacy grounds.
Out of the 556 requests (reduced from 606 after combining under section 24(2)), the total
number of FOI requests between 1 January 2021 and 14 July 2021 that were refused was
60.
