FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST
Your letter of request seeking access to documents under the provisions of the
Freedom of
Information Act 1982 (the Act), was received by Victoria Police on 6 January 2022.
Fee Required
Your attention is drawn to section 17(2A) of the Act which requires that a request must be
accompanied by a fee of
$30.10.
My office does not have the EFT facilities to process payments.
Please either send a cheque/money order to my office via post or visit
https://ovic.vic.gov.au/freedom-of-information/for-the-public/make-your-request-online/ to
make payment of the application fee. If payment is made via the above online portal, please
simply record the FOI file number in the summary field.
In respect to waiving the statutory fee under Section 17(2B) of the Act, I wish to advise that I
do not accede to your request for a fee waiver on the basis of the information provided. To
assist in making a determination, I require a general outline as to why payment of the fee
would cause hardship. This information should include any documentary evidence to support
your request, such as a Health Care Card or Pension Card.
Upon receipt of the supporting documentation or payment of the $30.10 application fee (which
is not refundable), your request wil be recorded and considered in accordance with the
provisions of the Act. Until such time as I have received this information, your request is
deemed to be not valid and no further action wil be taken.
Photo ID Required
Before any further action is taken, I require documentary proof of your identity e.g. a copy of
your driver's licence, passport and/or other document with your photo and current residential
address. On receipt of your proof of photo ID, your request wil be considered in accordance
with the provisions of the Act.

Under section 17(4) of the Act, an applicant must be given a reasonable opportunity of
consultation in order to make the request in a form that would comply with section 17(2) of the
Act.
Accordingly, a copy of your photo ID and payment of the application fee is required within
28
days of receiving this letter.
If I have not received your reply before
3 February 2022, I will consider that documents are
no longer required, and your request wil be finalised.
