Dear Alex,

Freedom of Information Request

Thank you for responding to our correspondence on your FOI request under the Freedom of
Information Act 1982
(Cth) (FOI Act) that the eSafety Commissioner (eSafety) received on 22 March
2022.

Scope of your request
Thank you for confirming that you agree to narrow the scope of your request.
I understand the revised scope of your request is for:
Any emails, correspondence, or records of correspondence from the eSafety commissioner or final
documents that include the phrase "Trusted Digital Identity Bill 2021"
covering the period:
•  1 January 2020 to 1 January 2022.
I understand your request as relating to eSafety documents and any correspondence or record of
correspondence from the Commissioner herself, and that it excludes documents that are out of scope
but are captured in our searches due to their attachment to an email or vice versa.
As previously noted, eSafety will assume that you do not require the details of public servants, which
we will therefore redact on relevance grounds pursuant to section 22 of the FOI Act.
Please let us know if any of the scope as outlined above is not correct.

Request for extension under section 15AA of the FOI Act

eSafety received your request on 22 March 2022 and the 30-day statutory period for processing your
request commenced from the day after that date.

In your correspondence of 1 April 2022, you advised that you consent to an extension of time to
process the request. We are writing to confirm that we will require an extension of a period of 30 days
to process the request.

via reply email to xxx@xxxxxxx.xxx.xx
that you agree to this extension.

Next steps

Information relating to the possible charges for your request remain unchanged since our previous
correspondence to you. If relevant, eSafety will advise you if you are liable to pay any charge and
provide a preliminary assessment of those charges.

We will contact you via this email address (xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx@xxxxxxxxxxx.xxx.xx), unless
you advise us otherwise.
