Freedom of Information (FOI) request – Access Decision
On 12 April 2022, the Department of Home Affairs (the Department) received a request for access
to document under the
Freedom of Information Act 1982 (the FOI Act).
The purpose of this letter is to provide you with a decision on your request for access under the
FOI Act.

Scope of request
You have requested access to the following document:

as at 11/04/2022 by client location of In/Outside Australia.
3) Visa Applications granted for subclass 189 Skil ed - Independent (New Zealand
Pathway) from 1st July 2021 to til date.
4) Visa Applications onhand for subclass 189 Skil ed - Independent (New Zealand
pathway) as at 11/04/2022 by client location of In/Outside Australia.
5) Visa applications granted for subclass 189 skil ed - Independent (Hong Kong
stream) from start of that visa by breakdown of grants in each month to til date.
6) Visa applications onhand for subclass 189 skil ed - Independent (Hong Kong
stream) until 11/04/2022.

Authority to make decision
I am an officer authorised under section 23 of the FOI Act to make decisions in respect of
requests to access document or to amend or annotate records.

Relevant material
In reaching my decision I referred to the following:
• the terms of your request
• the FOI Act
• Guidelines published by the Office of the Information Commissioner under section 93A
of the FOI Act (the FOI Guidelines)
• advice from Departmental officers with responsibility for matters relating to the
document to which you sought access

Document in scope of request
In accordance with section 17 of the FOI Act, the Department has used its computer system to
produce no documents that contain[s] information that falls within the scope of your request. The
data produced in the documents existed in the possession of the Department on 12 April 2022
when your FOI request was received.

Decision
The decision in relation to the document in the possession of the Department which fall within
the scope of your request is as follows:
• Release one document in full

Final Charge
On 11 May 2022, the Department issued you with a notice of charge in the amount of $15.00 to
process your request which includes the first five hours of decision making at no cost.
On 11 May 2022, the Department received your payment in the amount of $15.00.
As you have paid the charge in full but the decision has not been made within the statutory
timeframe a refund of $15.00 wil be issued to you.
Please provide your BSB and Account Number along with your name and FOI Request
Reference Number to xxx@xxxxxxxxxxx.xxx.xx in order for the refund to be processed.
