Dear Morgan
Your freedom of information request no. LEX3110
On 15 April 2022 you wrote to the Australian Electoral Commission (
AEC) seeking access under the
Freedom of Information Act 1982 (the FOI Act) to:
•
EasyCount Senate NATA Accreditation Report.
I am writing to you today to give you my decision in relation to the documents within scope for this
FOI request.
Again, I wish to apologise for the delay in processing your FOI request. Your FOI request was
overlooked in the rush of work undertaken by the AEC following the issue on 11 April 2022 of writs
for the 2022 Federal Election.
While your request was deemed to have been refused on 15 May 2022, I have proceeded to process
the application in line with the guidance at paragraph 3.161 of the guidelines issued by the Australian
Information Commissioner under section 93A of the FOI Act.
Identification of Documents
I identified one document that fell within the scope of your FOI request (the ‘Relevant Document’). I
did this by contacting the relevant business areas and requesting a copy of all relevant documents.
Decision
With regard to the Relevant Document identified I have decided to grant access in part. More
information, including my reasons for my decision, is set out in
Attachment A.
Review Rights
You are entitled to seek review of this decision.
Attachment B sets out your rights to apply for review
if you are dissatisfied with my decision.
Yours sincerely
