On 24 April 2022 the Australian National University received your request seeking access to
documents under the
Freedom of Information Act 1982 (the Act)

1. Scope of Request
I have taken your request to be as follows:
‘kindly provide the fol owing data for the 2021/22 admission cycle (i.e. 2021 fal intake):
1. List of all postgraduate taught programmes 2. Numbers of all applications (for each specific
programme) 3. Numbers of al offers made (for each specific programme) 4. Numbers of Chinese
nationality applications (for each specific programme) 5. Numbers of Chinese nationality offers made
(for each specific programme)’.
The purpose of this letter is to provide you with a decision on your request for access under the
Act.
2. Authority to Make Decision
I am an officer authorised under section 23 of the Act to make decisions in respect of requests to
access documents or to amend or annotate records.
3. Relevant Material
In reaching my decision I referred to the following:

• Document relevant to the request
• Advice from University staff with responsibility for matters relating to the document to
which you sought access
• The Act
• Guidelines published by the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC)
under section 93A of the Act (the FOI Guidelines)

I have identified two documents that are within the scope of your request. I have decided to grant
access to the documents in full.
A copy of the documents and a Document Schedule are enclosed with this letter.
5. Charges
As the cost of processing your request was minimal, I have decided not to impose charges in this
instance.
