Dear Ms Goodman
FREEDOM OF INFORMATION - NOTICE OF DECISION – REF: 8662
I refer to your request under the
Freedom of Information Act 1982 (FOI Act) received by way
of email on 16 November 2022 by the Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions seeking
access to:
“Under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Vic), I request that I be granted access
to the following information:
a) 2017 - 2022 - A list of all instances, Australia-wide, state by state, of rain-making
programs, including geographical locations, dates/range of dates administered, and
chemicals used in administration of those programs.
b) 2017 - 2022 - A list of all instances, Australia-wide, state-by-state, of weather
manipulation using HAARP technology, including geographical locations and
dates/range of dates administered.”
Right of access
The FOI Act provides the public with the right of access to documents held by state government
agencies and official documents of ministers. However, in order to protect essential public
interests, for example, the privacy of individuals and certain business affairs, this right of
access does not apply to documents that are identified as exempt under the FOI Act.
The FOI Act also allows agencies and ministers to partially release documents if practicable
to do so and if the applicant would wish to access such documents.
Document search
Agriculture Victoria undertook a search of relevant document repositories and subsequently
failed to locate any documents relevant to the scope of your request.
