ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF YOUR ACCESS APPLICATION – CIT FOI 2025-012
I am writing to you regarding the access application you made under the
Freedom of Information Act
2016 to the Chief Ministers, Treasury and Economic Development Directorate (CMTEDD), which was
received by Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) on 31 October 2025.
In the application you initially sought the following information:
“I am seeking any documents that list the services and functions that have been insourced by
the ACT Government, the number of staff brought in-house and who the previous providers
were”.
I acknowledge receipt of your subsequent email to CMTEDD, in which you provided the following
additional clarifications to refine the scope of the Information request mentioned above:
“I am seeking information on services that were previously provided by private or not for profit
providers but are now done or will be done by the ACT Government. Examples in the ACT would
include public school cleaning, maintenance of public housing, weighbridge operators at resource
management centres and school crossing supervisors, cleaning and food services at hospitals”.
“The timeframe would be since the 2016 ACT election”.
We advise that CIT holds partial information relevant to your request. In accordance with section 35 of
the Freedom of Information Act 2016, we are committed to providing access to the information we do
hold, subject to any applicable exemptions.
Timeframe
As your application was received by CIT on 31 October 2025, in accordance with section 40 of the FOI
Act, we have 30 working days from this date to process your access application.
As a result, you should expect a decision from us by 12 December 2025. This period may, however, be
extended if we need to consult third parties or for other reasons set out in the FOI Act. We will notify
you if this is the case.
