  ==Part C - What are you complaining about?==
I am complaining because I believe: (Please select at least one
    reason below):
     - I have been discriminated against because of my family
    responsibility
     - I have been discriminated against because of my immigrant
    status
     - My human rights have been breached by a Commonwealth
    government agency
When did the alleged event(s) happen?
First complaint was lodged in May 2015 from s 47F
Another complaint was lodged in 26th August from
s 47F
Another complaint was lodged in 9th September from
s 47F
Another complaint was 6th October 2015 from
s 47F
Another complaint was 20th October 2015 from
s 47F
    Reason(s) for delay:
     What happened?
First complaint was lodged in May 2015 when I was in s 47F  when I
asked SERCO and Immigration if they could please not move me away
    from  s 47F
. This was because my family was holding my
grandmother/mum's (she raised me as my mother) 1 year ceremony
since she passed away and unveiling on the 5th November 2015. I
was desperate and worried they would shift me of which they did
despite my pleas to remain - at least until my Nan's unveiling
    was over.

In my culture and family this is a very significant anniversary
and one where we grieve together as a family. I've never expected
to be allowed out of the DC to attend, just to be close to my
family during the anniversary. I have been diagnosed with
depression and anxiety and suffer insomnia since 2010. Being in a
detention centre is difficult enough but I feel my own mental
health is deteriorating. I've lost 16kgs in 3 months as a result
of the increased stress levels worrying about my family.

I was very stressed about not being present and worried I would
be taken elsewhere. I have since lodged further requests and
    complaints from
s 47F
 and
s 47F
 where I have
been requesting to be returned back to
s 47F
.

The wellbeing of myself and my family has been badly affected
through the processes and practices of SERCO and Immigration. My
offences were low level and I had served my sentence and was
placed in a low risk facility before having my visa cancelled.
Yet once cancelled my status was suddenly deemed as high risk
    without any justifications.

I have received responses to the effect that they cannot cater to
my specific needs. I would also like to point out that detainees
have been what seems randomly selected to be taken back to the
mainland. Last week approximately 25 men were returned to the
mainland and today another 22 men were returned. I don't
understand why I've not been allowed to return at all given my
genuine reasons to be there? Through what I have experienced so
far whilst being in detention I am certain many of the practices
are used as a form of torture and psychological abuse -
particularly the deliberate isolating and distancing practices
from our homes and families. It seems the more I complain and put
4

in requests the more I have become a target and they have moved
 me further away.
Please check this box if you intend to email the Commission
 supporting information.: Yes
 ==Part D - Other information==
How do you think the complaint could be resolved?
 Please return me to
s 47F
to be near my family so we
may be allowed the opportunity and dignity to grieve together as
the loss of our mum/grandmother has caused significant grief.
Have you complained about this to another organisation? No
Were you referred to us by another organisation? Yes
