Dear Mr Ronalds, 
SettlementSupportServices on Nauru 
I refer to the proposed contractual arrangement between the Department oflmmigration & 
Border Protection (the Department) and Save the Children Australia (SCA) to provide 
Settlement Support Services to Refugees on Nauru (the Services). 
The Department is committed to providing all Refugees access to health care to a level, 
standard and timeliness broadly consistent with health care available to the Nauruan 
community, taking into account the diverse and potentially complex health needs of Refugees 
The Department is pleased to advise that SCA is the Department's preferred service provider 
for the Services. 
The Department intend to enter into a fonnal Settlement Support Services contract (Contract) 
with SCA to carry out the Services. 
Letter oflntent 
This letter of intent (LOI) is only intended to address the contractual arrangement between the 
Department and SCA that exists from the date that SCA commences the Services to the 
commencement date of the Contract. 
SCA and Department agree that the terms and conditions in the Contract ( as attached) are 
incoiporated into this LOI. 
The Department may, notwithstanding this LOI, at any time and in its absolute discretion, 
reduce or tenninate the provision of the Services, including the scope of Services approved 
under this LOI.
