Dear Mr Smith,
Consultation following applicant contention that charge be reduced or not
imposed (s 29(8))
I refer to your email of 11 July 2020 in which you explained the reasons for your request
for a waiver of charges pursuant to section 29(5)(b) on the grounds of public interest and
financial hardship (section 29(5)(a)).
We do not accept your argument that there is a public interest in the documents
requested, as the information in the documents is not a matter of currency in the
mainstream media.
However, we will give consideration to your contention on financial hardship grounds. In
your email of 11 July 2020, you have advised that you can provide further evidence of
your financial circumstances, including a low-income health card. Please send any
further information that evidences your financial circumstances to
xxx@xxx.xxx.xx. I also confirm that you have agreed to limit the scope of your request to records on the
exchange server, where the period of retention for skype and email records has lapsed.
If you have any questions regarding your request, please contact me at
xxx@xxx.xxx.xx. Yours sincerely,
Skye M
