I refer to your request for documents under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (the FOI Act), 
received by the department on 25 August 2020, in which you sought access to: 
 
Documents regarding the number of charges for unlawful use of force in Victorian Youth 
Detention From 1990-Present. 
 
Application fee 
 
Section 17(2A) of the FOI Act requires that an application fee of $29.60 accompanies a request for 
access to documents. The fee can be paid by cheque or Money Order. The application fee may be 
waived in circumstances of hardship. If you wish to seek waiver of the fee, you wil  need to provide 
evidence of hardship, such as a current healthcare or pension card.   
 
Please note your request wil  not be considered valid and wil  therefore not be processed until 
payment or application for waiver is received and approved. 
 
Please also note that in addition to the application fee, processing fees may also be applied to 
your request. 
 
I would appreciate it if you would respond to the issues raised above within 28 days of the date of 
this letter, otherwise I wil  assume that you do not wish to continue with your request and no 
further action wil  be taken by the department.
